THE WOMEN IN ME

PORTRAIT SERIES

2019

Portrait series ‘’The Woman in Me’’ explores womanhood through various characters and artistic techniques.

The portraits reflect personal experiences and the gathered stories from women around me.

The series aims to present diverse backgrounds, experiences and characteristics of women, beyond the borders of stereotypes.

Paintings, drawings, digital work and mixed media transformed into prints and transferred on garments, such as shirts and bags.

When these prints are worn, the characters travel into the streets, they become alive and continue to tell their stories.

Prints are reproduced in limited amount.

THE WOMEN IN ME

THE WARRIOR

Always fair, always strong.

Never would do no wrong.

She lifts the weight of thousand mountains,

It cracks and breaks her fragile fountains

Now she heals with gentle water

Every wounded, tortured daughter.

CHILLED SISTER

It is refreshing to have someone like her around, someone who lives life as it goes.

Lives now.

She is out there, floating in the waves, taking it easy for all us sinners.

QUEER LOVE

You and me, now I see, it's very clear

All is fair and love is queer

ALL EYES ON ME

A cold, wet burn strikes my neck.

The eyes run down my back.

They linger on my hips, then bounce my tail and squeeze my lips.

He winks and whistles

and shoots his guided missiles.

I run away to find my sister.

Run through blinding lights,

I almost missed her.

I find her scared, blinded, with no clothing

Full of fear and self loathing.

They pulled her hair,

They squeezed her waist,

pushed her breasts.

They change her until she passed the test.

Day after day,

White flickering eyeballs jumps on our way

Some balls are ok,

Some make us giggle,

Some make us shiver,

In the end of the day

Stare back at them I say!

PACHAMAMA

Pachamama is a fertility goddess,

earth and time mother.

Pachamama presides over planting

and harvesting, embodies the mountains.

She causes earthquakes and tornadoes.

She is the heart, the beat, the blood and the veins.

Great danger arises when we abuse Pachamama.

LO LO LO LO LOLA

Girls will be boys, and boys will be girls,

It's a mixed-up, muddled-up, shook-up world.

Except for Lola

FAT BOTTOMED GIRL

Her ass is big and belly is floppy,

Her tights are thunder and arms are saggy

Her cheeks are round and eyebrows fuzzy

Yet her hips are wild and moves are groovy.

THE WITNESS

She stands alone on the top of the mountain,

There she feels a hard wind blow.

She comes back home to tell the news,

To all the neighbors, friends and lovers.

They turn their heads and plug their ears

she asks for comfort, they seal their lips

she holds a mirror, so they close their eyes

They close their eyes and walk away.

Her fingers cramp into fists,

Her heart squeezed in her chest

Tears starts running down her cheeks

She bangs her fists and screams :

,,’What can I do, when the hard wind blow? ‘’

Nipples

All is natural, none's taboo

Angie has eleven, Angelina has two

All is natural, none's taboo

Why do men have nipples too?
